The SCCMAC is established to advise the Board of Supervisors and other County decision-makers on proposed projects, issues, and topics of interest within the Sonoma County Coast region. It serves as a regular forum for community input, promotes citizen participation in advisory recommendations, and acts as a communication bridge between the County, local residents, businesses, and the general public regarding decisions that affect the Sonoma Coast.
Specifically, the SCCMAC provides a forum for public expression and for makes advisory recommendations to the County of Sonoma on the following topics, when referred by Permit Sonoma or requested byt he District Supervisor:
Use permit applications
Rezoning applications
General Plan amendment applications
Prioritization of Transportation and Transit Improvements
Health and Human Safety Net Services
Additional topics suggested by District Supervisor
MAC representatives also serve as a liaison with the Fifth District County Supervisor on community support and outreach for residents in this unincorporated community.
