Santa Rosa Child Molester Sentenced to Life in Prison
Gabriel Sanchez, 26 years old of Santa Rosa, was sentenced today by the Honorable Kristine Burk to serve a term of 35 years to life in state prison after pleading “no contest” in March of this year to six separate charges including committing a lewd act upon a child under the age of 14; committing a lewd act upon a child by force, fear, or duress; contacting a child for the purpose of child molestation; and manufacturing of child pornography. Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approves ordinance to safeguard civil rights of immigrants
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today moved forward with an ordinance that prohibits County employees from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement operations, bans immigration authorities from using County property for enforcement actions, and affirms that the County does not collect or share immigration status unless required by law. The Board also approved $1.5 million to support immigrant community resource needs. Read full story
Sonoma County encourages secure online property tax payments
The Sonoma County Auditor‑Controller‑Treasurer‑Tax Collector’s Office is reminding taxpayers to use secure payment methods for their property taxes, as check‑fraud involving mailed payments continues to increase.
