Election Name Change
This election's original name was "November 4, 2025, Uniform District Election." It changed to "November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election" in late August after Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation calling a statewide special election to be held on the same date (November 4) As a result, you may encounter instances where the election is referred to by its old name. However, both names now refer to the exact same election and can be used interchangeably.
