Board of Supervisors approves adding parks sale tax measure to November ballot
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today took the first step toward asking voters to consider extending the local sales tax that supports regional and city parks across Sonoma County. If passed by voters in November, the proposed ballot measure would continue the existing one-eighth-cent sales tax Sonoma County voters enacted as Measure M in 2018. The measure would not increase the current tax rate or create an additional tax. Read full story

Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approves ordinance to safeguard civil rights of immigrants
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today moved forward with an ordinance that prohibits County employees from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement operations, bans immigration authorities from using County property for enforcement actions, and affirms that the County does not collect or share immigration status unless required by law. The public is invited to offer input on the County’s top priorities on Tuesday, Feb. 3, when the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will hold its meeting in Sonoma Valley. The meeting will include the Board’s annual priority setting session in which supervisors identify the goals they wish to accomplish for the coming year.
